How is Speech Academy different from other speech therapy platforms?

Speech Academy is the most comprehensive K-6 speech-language program in digital form that tracks student performance. The entire program is research-based, prioritizing expressive language and the techniques proven to grow the language needed for academic success. It's organized efficiently, capitalizing on cross-domain generalization. Lessons are interactive. The SLP or teacher will teach the lesson to the whole class in the manner they enjoy, using the visuals to help them if they choose. Then as a group, exactly like they use their one-to-one devices in a classroom, the students will complete the interactive materials on their devices. Based int he tenet that a good therapy session keeps the therapist front and center, directions and instruction are minimal, allowing many options with activities. There's no more waiting for a turn. With every swipe, sort, match, game played and short answer, students are simultaneously learning 100% of your session. 

Do my students each need their own login?

Yes, they do need their own login. They will have their own dashboard, which gives them full access to the programs you assign them. They can access their program in teletherapy, outside of your sessions, such as home or WIN periods of the school day. 

Can my students access their Speech Academy programs to practice outside of our speech sessions? 

Yes, of course! This is a huge benefit of Speech Academy. 

Can I use this platform in school with district-owned devices?

Yes, it is protected and safe for students to access their courses in school with district-owned devices. Nothing links to other internet sites. All lessons are specifically native to Speech Academy. 

What's a session like? I don't want my students ignoring me for their screens. 

Every activity was made with these parameters in mind: 1) Therapists should be the source of fun, not a screen. While our activities are engaging, colorful and packed with interest, they are not gamified. We want your students socially engaged and getting their dopamine hits from impressing you with their smart answers, not scoring tokens. 2) Every therapist teaches differently and our activities allow space for all teaching styles and student ability levels. Want to work together on every page offering high levels of support to your students? You can. Want to teach a mini lesson then give them independence to practice? You can do that, too. 3) 3) Lessons aesthetically have a broad age range to appeal to many ages and abilities.    

What happens after 12 months?

Individual subscribers will receive an email reminder that your subscription is about to automatically renew. Purchase orderers will receive an email to resubmit a new P.O so that their therapists don't lose access at the end of their current subscription. 

What if I don't like it?

Email us a request to cancel. We'll take care of the rest. Enjoy access until the end of your annual subscription. Watch for an email from us to confirm your subscription will not renew.
